According to research conducted by the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston region offers the 5th lowest cost of living among all major metropolitan areas in the nation. The Houston region's living costs are 23.1 percent below average for major metropolitan areas.
The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) found that Houston's living costs are 26.4% below the average of the nation's 20 most populus metropolitan areas.
The C2ER found that Houston's housing costs were 14.7% below the average for ALL US metros.
