Lamar Consolidated ISD provides public education to over 43 percent of Fort Bend County and enrolls more than 27,000 students each year. Lamar CISD has designed its schools for smaller enrollment, with high schools having less than 2,000 students enrolled, in order to provide students with more opportunities for leadership and to participate in campus activities.

Lamar CISD is proud to be an HEB Excellence in Education Large District winner.
Texas State Technical College recently completed Phase I of its 80 acre campus in Fall 2016. The initial phase consisted of a 126,000 SF education facility offering state of the art lab space and classrooms. Phase II will include an additional 50,000 SF educational building.
Wharton County Junior College has a long history of providing high quality post-secondary education and workforce training in Fort Bend County starting in 1983.
Houston Community College has their Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence which focuses on providing training in high growth and high demand occupations such as machining, additive manufacturing, robotics, CNC operations, and advanced manufacturing.
The University of Houston's Sugar Land Campus, located just a short drive from Richmond, is a Tier 1 University Institute. The 270 acre campus offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional certification opportunities.
